Buildkite delivers a hybrid continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) platform that combines a cloud-hosted control plane with self-hosted build agents, enabling teams to run builds and tests on their own infrastructure while retaining centralized orchestration, observability and security. Its platform includes pipelines, a test analytics engine, package registries and hosted agents for Linux and macOS, serving engineering and DevOps teams at startups and large enterprises that require high-performance, flexible build and release pipelines. Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Melbourne, Buildkite supports tens of thousands of users and is used by leading organizations across cloud, consumer and AI sectors. The company has grown through product-led adoption and commercial sales, announced a Series A in 2020 and a Series B in 2022, and counts customers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Uber, Airbnb, Canva, Shopify and others among its user base. The problem

Why now
