Mission

FreeGuides operates a mobile app that enables locals to create, run and manage virtual walking tours and experiences for users on Apple and Android. The app is live in the Sydney CBD with pre-loaded content, a global payments system and an interface designed for both guides and explorers. The company has recruited guides across 13 countries who have created 63 experiences and currently offers Sydney-based experiences in categories such as culinary, cultural, city and architectural. FreeGuides pivoted during the global pandemic to focus on self-guided experiences and plans to resume offering guided tours once circumstances allow. The team is led by founder Daniel Wasilewsky with technical co-founder Cameron Wasilewsky and CTO Jairaj Sharma.
