Mission

Language Your Way is a Melbourne-based EdTech startup that offers a game-based online education platform and online tutoring to teach English to Chinese school students. Since launching in 2015 the company has been operating on the ground in China, where it has signed its first schools and students and generated initial revenue. The platform is currently used in multiple English training schools in Sichuan and has attracted interest from key local education market players. LYW’s initial target areas are second- and third-tier provinces with a specific early focus on Sichuan, and management cites a targetable market of over 200 million K–12 students. The recently closed pre-seed funding from local angel investors, including several successful venture capitalists, will be used to sign additional schools and to develop Version 2 of the platform. Version 2 is planned to feature enhanced gamification and adaptive learning capabilities and is expected to go live in early 2017 to support rapid growth in student numbers and revenue over the next 12 months.
