Mission

GridWise Energy Solutions is building the DMV Tool, an online platform that lets renewable project developers self-validate generator models before submitting them to Network Service Providers (NSPs) and the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO). The company is collaborating with Coleman Laboratories, AusNet and Transgrid to develop the software. The DMV Tool is designed to standardise and expedite model assessment, reduce duplicated checks by NSPs and AEMO, and free engineers to focus on complex tasks. The tool will be updated regularly to align with agreed assessment approaches and is currently in a trial phase. GridWise has received a $336,000 grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of an $800,000 initiative supporting the project. The DMV Tool is slated for completion in March 2025 and aims to improve the quality of connection submissions while supporting Australia’s renewable energy transition.
