About

Carbonaught operates a platform and protocol for enhanced weathering that crushes and spreads mining and quarry waste rock on farmland to sequester CO2, improve soil health, and track provenance.

Mission

Carbonaught’s core product is a platform and protocol for enhanced weathering that crushes and spreads highly available waste rock from mining and quarry operations onto farmland to sequester CO2 and improve soil health. The company emphasizes transparent provenance, full carbon life-cycle analysis, measurable links to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and an approach designed to be resistant to flood, fire and drought. Its platform enables landholders to deploy their own decarbonisation projects at scale without multi-year third-party land covenants. Carbonaught aims to remove one billion tonnes of CO2 per year by 2030 while restoring degraded soils to support food security. The business has mobilised projects across Queensland and Western Australia, secured two funded pilot projects and placed 24th out of over 1,400 teams in the XPrize Carbon Removal Challenge. At present it is at pre-seed stage with backing from Antler, which has funded hires and testing equipment to accelerate project development.
