About

Xefco develops Ausora and XReflex plasma coating technologies for water-free dyeing and one-step textile finishing, operating R&D and a pilot plant at Deakin ManuFutures hub with regional manufacturing partners.

Mission

Xefco develops plasma coating technologies (branded Ausora and XReflex) that enable water-free dyeing and one‑step finishing for textiles, significantly cutting water, chemical and energy use. The company operates R&D and a pilot manufacturing plant at Deakin University’s ManuFutures hub in Geelong and has partnerships with regional Victorian manufacturers. XReflex is already in use by major apparel brands including The North Face. Xefco says its plasma process can eliminate toxic chemicals from supply chains, reduce energy use by about 86%, and has the potential to cut up to 20% of global textile water pollution and roughly 3% of global carbon emissions. The business scored $4 million in 2023 via the Trailblazer Universities Program to scale and commercialise Ausora and is now expanding manufacturing and headcount in Victoria.
