Why Neara exists

Neara develops a physics-based digital twin solution that allows electric utilities and other infrastructure owners to create highly detailed 3D models of their entire asset networks. The software simulates real-world physics to reveal under-utilised capacity, accelerate renewable and new infrastructure connections, and improve grid reliability as energy demand surges. To date, the platform has modelled more than 15 million assets covering over 3 million kilometres across four continents, serving customers such as Southern California Edison, CenterPoint Energy, ESB Networks, Scottish Power, Hedno, and nearly 90 % of Australia’s network utilities. Clients report eight- and nine-figure cost savings and faster project delivery. With total funding of roughly AUD 180 million, Neara plans to use its new capital to scale its machine-learning and AI engineering teams and broaden its international commercial reach. The company aims to address global infrastructure challenges tied to electrification, climate resilience, and rising AI-driven energy demand.

What we're building
