About
Tablo is a self-publishing platform offering a book-focused WYSIWYG editor for pasting or uploading chapters/epubs, browser previewing, collaboration, social author profiles, embeddable books, and distribution to Amazon/iBooks.
Mission
Tablo.io is a Wattpad-like self-publishing platform built by 21-year-old Ash Davies that aims to make publishing as easy as blogging. The service offers a seamless, book-focused editor where chapters appear as posts and authors can publish immediately. Authors have social profiles and can invite readers to follow and subscribe to updates. Tablo provides a friction-free way to publish finished books to Amazon and iBooks and emphasizes superior design and a usable interface. The platform reports 10,000 authors from 100 countries. The recent seed financing is intended to improve site services and features. Tablo was founded by Ash Davies and Andrew McIntosh as a cloud-based tool for creating and publishing ebooks with a WordPress-like WYSIWYG interface. Users can paste chapters or upload iBooks-compatible epub files, preview books in the browser, collaborate with editors, and embed books on websites. For an additional fee the platform can distribute to Amazon and iBooks bookstores, and books are readable on any mobile browser. The company reported $12,000 in revenue in its first month after launch and has 150 authors from 30 countries signed up. Tablo was funded with $20,000 by Australian accelerator Angelcube and is ramping up its U.S. presence while seeking local funding.
