Mission

FLAYR is a Sydney-based on-demand platform connecting time‑poor Australian women with hair stylists and makeup artists for at‑home services. Co-founded in 2016 by Subhaga Amarasekara and Roshan Mahanama, the platform began as a tool to help the founders’ family member manage clients and bookings. FLAYR now hosts 800 stylists on the platform and has turned over $1 million from bookings since launching. The company raised $500,000 in a seed round led by Sydney Angels, Sydney Angels Sidecar Fund 2 and private investors to fuel Australia-wide growth. FLAYR plans to expand its stylist base and spend more time consulting with stylists to improve their experience on the platform. The founders emphasize helping stylists earn more and seek value-adding, collaborative investors as they scale.
