Language Confidence provides AI-powered tools to automate teaching and testing of spoken English. Its core product is an API that 'listens' to students, assesses and corrects pronunciation, and provides visual feedback that can be plugged into digital platforms. The company also offers a white-labeled automated English test for mock high-stakes testing, placement, and diagnostic testing for universities, schools, online platforms and governments. Language Confidence's technology supports multiple accents, natively recognizes over 10,000 commonly spoken English words, and delivers detailed, specific feedback on pronunciation. In March 2022 the Sydney startup raised $1.5M (A$2.05M) in a seed round. The funds are earmarked to expand its AI-powered APIs and automated English tests and to build its global customer base.
