X-Hemp makes environmentally friendly hemp building products—primarily hempcrete—using both agricultural waste and purpose-grown cannabis crops. The company supplies residential and major commercial projects and featured its products on the Huon Hemp Home episode of Grand Designs Australia. X-Hemp plans to fast-track production, procure critical infrastructure, conduct further R&D and expand its workforce to meet growing demand for renewable construction materials. Management highlights hempcrete’s benefits—non-combustible, termite-proof, mould-resistant and carbon-storing—while aiming to replicate international market success. The business currently employs an all-female team of eight and is focused on scaling supply chains and local manufacturing.
