About

GrazeMate develops autonomous drone technology that herds cattle and delivers real-time pasture and livestock analytics through a mobile app.

Mission

GrazeMate’s platform lets ranchers open a smartphone app, choose a paddock, and dispatch an autonomous drone that moves cattle without human pilots, horses, motorcycles, or helicopters. While mustering the herd, the drone’s onboard sensors collect data on forage availability, estimated animal weight, and the status of critical infrastructure such as water troughs, sending a completion alert once the gate is crossed. The company has already secured commitments to manage 687,965 hectares across Queensland and New South Wales and is beginning expansion into California. Founded in 2025 by 19-year-old CEO Sam Rogers, the startup leverages recent advances in drone battery life, edge AI, and loosening autonomy regulations. GrazeMate positions itself as a labour-saving tool for livestock operations facing workforce shortages and rising costs. Financially, the company has attracted a pre-seed injection of A$1.2 million to accelerate product development and market rollout.
