Users can endorse, bookmark, rate and broadcast favorite content with a single ""clap,"" and the most clapped items from the friends feed migrate to a global ""best"" feed. The platform functions as a browser and community that directs users back to the original creators, websites, merchants and social networks where content originates. Founded by Paul J. Bedwell, Mary Jane Bulseco and Stan Tsvirko, clapit is based in Sydney and has U.S. operations in Los Angeles. The company is using AU$2.57M in seed funding to develop and launch its app, and clapit beta is currently available in the iOS App Store. Backers named in the article include Mark Moran and Paul Siderovski.
