Mission

Pooled Energy develops an intelligent pool control system that automates and optimises energy use as well as chemical use and water quality for residential swimming pools. Its technology cuts a pool’s share of household energy from typical levels down to about 10% of household demand and the company says it can reduce a household’s total energy usage by approximately 30%. The company is expanding a trial from 400 to 5,000 residential pools in NSW as part of a 5MW demonstration. Pooled Energy’s platform uses a cloud-based system to coordinate fleets of pools to deliver demand response and help manage peak loads. The project is being supported with public funding from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA). Co-founder and chairman John Riedl is quoted expressing the company’s aims to assist the grid with no inconvenience to customers.
