Mission

Founded earlier this year by legal AI specialist Umar Butler, Isaacus is building domain-specific artificial intelligence and data infrastructure for legal tech companies. Its flagship asset is the Blackstone Corpus, a living, multijurisdictional repository of legal knowledge that underpins advanced research and retrieval models. By delivering AI-powered legal research capabilities that surpass general-domain systems, the company aims to solve the unique pain points of emerging AI-first legal tech firms and forward-thinking law practices. Isaacus believes these tech-driven firms will become the law offices of the future and is tailoring its tools accordingly. The founding team also includes statistical expert Abdur-Rahman Butler and former IBM CTO Anthony Butler, providing deep technical and enterprise experience. Following a $700,000 pre-seed round, the company now has capital to accelerate R&D in sovereign Australian legal AI and expand collaborations across the sector. This investment positions Isaacus at the forefront of what it calls “one of the most disruptive legal AI missions of the decade.”
