Mission

Gelion PLC focuses on designing and commercialising advanced lithium-sulfur batteries built around its proprietary sulfur-based cathode material. The company, working through its UK subsidiary OXLiD Ltd, is aiming to deliver pouch cells exceeding 10 Ah that offer significantly higher energy density than conventional lithium-ion solutions. Gelion’s near-term plan is to scale production processes and secure third-party validation of its technology in partnership with defense and aerospace group QinetiQ. Over the next 12 months the team will build multilayer demonstrator cells that QinetiQ will independently test, supplying data needed to de-risk adoption in strategic sectors. Results are scheduled to be showcased at the Cenex Expo 2026, providing a platform for broader industry engagement. While the firm did not disclose revenue or user figures, management highlighted that independent certification and performance validation are key milestones on the path to commercial deployment.
