About

Cloudstaff operates cloud-based remote workforce and outsourcing services, building and managing offshore teams in the Philippines, handling recruitment, HR, payroll, technology provisioning, and 24-hour collaboration across time zones.

Mission

Cloudstaff provides cloud-based remote workforce and outsourcing services, hosting thousands of remote workers and managing recruitment, HR, and payroll for client companies. The company combines proprietary technology with a culture-first approach to enable employee engagement and continuous 24-hour workflows across time zones. Cloudstaff supplies employees with technology and resources to support collaboration and uninterrupted workflow regardless of location. Founded by Lloyd Ernst and established in China in 2005, the business expanded into the Philippines with multiple offices in Metro Clark, two Manila offices (Ortigas and Makati), and an operational hub in Cebu. During the COVID-19 pandemic Cloudstaff maintained client operations and experienced increased demand for its remote-working model. The company says it will use new capital to expand its footprint and employ more cloud-based staff to meet rising global demand. Cloudstaff builds and manages ongoing offshore teams in the Philippines, focusing on taking tasks offshore—especially low-value repetitive work—and helping clients establish ongoing relationships with offshore staff. The company is an Australian start-up based in Manila and is led by founder and CEO Lloyd Ernst. Cloudstaff raised $500,000 from three local investors to support its growth. The funds will be used to develop demand for Cloudstaff's services in Australia via marketing campaigns and education seminars about the benefits of outsourcing. Ernst said the successful float of Freelancer has increased interest in the outsourcing market. He also highlighted cultural challenges as a key reason for basing operations in the Philippines and emphasized the need to invest time and support into offshore teams to retain quality staff.
