About

Chargefox builds and operates an app-enabled, open-access ultra-rapid EV charging network across Australian interstate highways, deploying sites with two 150 kW chargers, purchased renewable energy, and onsite solar/battery systems.

Mission

Chargefox is building Australia’s first ultra‑rapid electric vehicle charging network powered by purchased renewable energy. The company is rolling out a $15 million national network of 21 charging sites on interstate highways, connecting major capitals including Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane and routes near Perth. ARENA provided $6 million in funding for the roll‑out and the Victorian Government contributed $1 million to the first two sites in Euroa and Barnawartha North. The public, open‑access stations will be app‑enabled, have two 150 kW chargers per site, and aim to add 200–400 km of range in about 15 minutes; some sites will include solar and battery installations. The Australian Mobility Clubs (NRMA, RACV, RACQ, RAC, RAA and RACT), through Australian Motoring Services (AMS), has invested and is now the largest shareholder; Chargefox has also received funding from Wilson Transformer Company and Carsales founder Greg Roebuck. The roll‑out is intended to reduce range anxiety and accelerate EV adoption by enabling long‑distance travel powered by renewables.
