About

SEA Electric develops and integrates SEA-Drive electric powertrains into commercial vans, minibuses and medium-duty trucks, partnering with OEMs and upfitters to convert donor chassis for urban delivery fleets.

Mission

SEA Electric is a global automotive technology company that develops proprietary electric power-system technology (SEA-Drive®) for urban delivery and distribution fleets. The company partners with OEMs, dealers, operators and upfitters to deliver zero-emission commercial trucks and has more than one million miles of independent OEM testing and in-service operation. SEA Electric has a global headquarters and key leadership in Los Angeles, operations reported in multiple countries, and North America upfitting capacity cited at more than 30,000 units per annum. The company is on schedule to deliver more than 1,000 electric commercial vehicles in 2021 and forecasts more than 15,000 vehicles on the road by the end of 2023. SEA Electric said the financing proceeds will fund its backlog, accelerate sales and pilot programs, and support exploration of a U.S. public listing. SEA Electric has developed three SEA-Drive™ electric drive system models that can be fitted to commercial vehicle donor chassis to enable 100% electric operation. The company integrates and assembles the cab, battery pack, electric motor and electronic infrastructure into commercial vans, minibuses and medium‑duty trucks. Its product range is scaled to donor vehicle categories including 5–7m vans/minibuses, 9–13t GVM and 14–18t GVM truck cab/chassis, with an auxiliary battery option for up to 24t GVM or waste compactor bodies. SEA Electric targets commercial vehicles that travel less than 200km per day with overnight dwell times and has a stated vision to electrify a large portion of the global commercial fleet. The company planned to use external finance to purchase components and scale manufacturing to meet growing customer demand. SEA Electric is Australia/Victoria‑based and received both Clean Energy Innovation Fund finance and a Victorian government New Energy Jobs Fund grant to support facility development.
