Mission

Cadmus is an assessment-for-learning platform that detects the authenticity of student work, including use of ChatGPT and other AI platforms. Rather than focusing solely on submissions, the software monitors the process around assessment construction using metrics such as hours spent and sources of pasted work. The platform also enables universities to design high-quality, authentic assessments across every academic discipline. Cadmus emerged in 2015 out of a research project at the University of Melbourne and has been adopted by more than half of Australia’s universities and by leading universities in the UK. Universities using Cadmus reported a 76% decrease in academic misconduct, a 91% positive student experience and an 8.5% increase in academic performance and pass rates. Company leadership says it is experiencing rapid domestic and international growth and that recent funding will support global expansion.
