Milanote offers digital ""boards"" with a drag-and-drop interface that lets users add and position photos, notes and nested assets to create visual moodboards or organize project materials. Boards can be shared for collaboration, and the product includes to-do lists and support for linking or storing related files. The platform began as an internal tool for the founders' UX agency and was spun out as Milanote, launched in February; the CEO is Ollie Campbell. Milanote is positioned as an ""Evernote for creatives"" and reports about 35,000 users, including designers, writers, marketers and teams at companies such as Facebook, Apple, Uber, Dropbox, Google, Adobe, Sony and Nike. The product is offered on a freemium model with a free tier capped on items and paid plans that unlock unlimited storage, with pricing varying for individuals versus teams. Future product plans cited by the company include a Pinterest-style web clipper for gathering inspiration, video embedding, broader file-type support and stronger collaboration features like client feedback and commenting. The company aims to centralize creatives' work across images, notes and tasks to reduce fragmentation across multiple tools.
