About

Flare provides a cloud HR and payroll platform for SMEs offering onboarding, training, performance reviews, benefits and financial-wellness tools, integrated payroll, interactive payslips, dashboards and third-party integrations.

Mission

Flare is a Sydney-based HR software provider founded in 2015 that offers tools to manage employee onboarding, performance reviews, internal communications and other HR functions for SMEs. The company targets businesses with fewer than 2,000 employees and has a team of around 95. Flare is expanding its product set to include workplace financial products and broader financial-wellness solutions. It announced a partnership with KKR-backed accounting platform MYOB to deliver digital products to MYOB customers. The firm said the software will be available for MYOB SME customers by the end of the year and for Enterprise customers in 2021. Financially, Flare raised $22M in a Series C, bringing its total funding to $51.5M. Flare provides an all-in-one cloud-based HR, onboarding, financial wellbeing and payroll platform. The product suite combines onboarding, integrated HR and payroll tools with a financial wellness and benefits platform. The company intends to use new funding to grow local adoption of its onboarding and fully integrated HR and payroll products and to expand its financial wellness and benefits offerings. Since its last major investment in August 2017, Flare has doubled its customer base to over 200 clients. Its platform is used by over 100,000 employees across Australia. The company was co-founded by Dan Cohen, James Windon, Saul Kaplan and Colin Mierowsky. Flare HR offers a cloud-based HR platform that handles onboarding, training, communication, superannuation, benefits and other HR functions. The company plans to launch Flare Pay next month to automate payroll and provide reports, interactive payslips and data-driven dashboards. Funds from the recent round will be used to build out the HR solution, add integration capabilities and introduce a single-touch payroll feature planned for release in July next year. Flare launched its core cloud product into the market last year and was founded by Jan Pacas, Saul Kaplan, Colin Mierowsky and Daniel Cohen. The startup expanded its team from four to 35 employees over the past year and has secured 100 clients supporting over 40,000 employees. James Windon is joining the company as a cofounder alongside the existing team.
