Wrappli offers a mobile outdoor-ad tech platform that connects advertisers with privately owned vehicles wrapped in client advertising and tracks those vehicles using a patented beacon that links to a driver mobile app. Advertisers use a planning tool to set campaign geographies and number of cars, while drivers install an iPhone app (Android slated for December) and must meet eligibility checks before joining campaigns. Drivers can earn passive income of up to $600 per month, and Wrappli requires regular photo checks and at least 100km of typical daily driving before campaign placement. The company has GPS-based reporting and is developing an impression algorithm to estimate how many people may have seen moving ads. Wrappli attracted initial interest via a $180 Facebook test that yielded over 1,000 driver expressions of interest, supporting its go-to-market traction. The firm plans to validate and test its business model and expand into other major Australian cities in the second half of 2017.
