About

Melodie operates an online music-licensing platform offering Creator, Pro, Enterprise subscriptions, an exclusive catalog of 25,000+ tracks, AI-powered search, and API integrations for creators, brands, broadcasters and UGC platforms.

Mission

Melodie operates an online music-licensing platform offering Creator, Pro and Enterprise subscription options, an exclusive catalogue of original music and AI-powered search tools. The company licenses music to creators, brands, broadcasters, production companies and API partners (including US-based GoDaddy Studio). Its catalogue exceeds 25,000 exclusive tracks and more than 20 million minutes of its music have been broadcast on FTA and VOD platforms in Australia. Financially, Melodie reports steep YoY revenue growth of 96–229% over each of the past three years, driven by broadcast royalty income and recurring revenue from creators and enterprise users. The company has won industry awards and plans international expansion, including opening its first European office in France and exhibiting at IBC Amsterdam and MIPCOM Cannes. Founded in November 2017, Melodie emphasizes paying artists whenever music is downloaded and positioning its platform to create long-term strategic partnerships. Melodie is a Sydney-based music licensing platform led by Evan Buist that provides tech-enabled music licensing solutions for the creator economy, film & TV sync, and UGC-centric creative technology platforms. The company serves three core segments—B2C, B2B and B2B2C—and integrates with platforms such as Breakout Clips, Creatopy and Pictory via an API. That API receives more than 2 million search and download calls each day. Melodie raised A$1m in new funding at a $15m valuation. Follow-on investments in the round came from early Atlassian employee and Code Barrel founder Nick Menere and Peter Strain, co-owner of The Drop Festival. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth across its segments with a particular focus on expanding its footprint in the US market.
