Saltwater Games is a Web3 gaming company. It recently closed a $5.5 million seed funding round. The company completed acquisitions of game developers Maze Theory, Nexus Labs and Quantum Interactive, whose portfolios include Doctor Who and Peaky Blinders games. The seed financing was led by crypto investors Deus X and Fourth Revolution Capital (4RC), and Tim Grant of Deus X will become Saltwater's chairman as part of the deal. Deus X launched last October with family office backing and $1 billion in assets. Saltwater plans to use the funding to increase headcount, invest in new technology and expand its operations into new territories.
