Varicon is an end-to-end connected cost management SaaS built to reduce financial risk in civil construction by leveraging smartphone and cloud technologies. The platform tracks actual costs versus budget in real time, consolidates siloed cost data, and offers an intuitive mobile field user experience alongside smart performance dashboards. It provides a feedback loop to improve tender estimates, eliminates double-entry, and aims to improve margins through automated industry best practices. Varicon targets medium-to-large civil contractors, public infrastructure developers, property developers, roads and transport, and demolition contractors. The company was co-founded in Hobart in 2019 by James Baker, Ofer Assor and Siddhant Shrestha; James Baker serves as CEO. Varicon closed a $2.25M funding round to scale the product and expand nationally across Australia. Notable investors in the round include Aconex founder Leigh Jasper, Galileo Ventures, Artesian Ventures, Andrew Sypkes, Josh Slattery, Murray Bleach and the founders of BlackCap Construction Group.
