Mission

Arkeus builds an AI-powered Hyperspectral Optical Radar (HS-OR) designed to give drones and other platforms the ability to ‘see’, understand and act on their environment in real time. The HS-OR combines hyperspectral imaging, radar and AI and can operate on land, sea, air and satellites. The startup is initially focused on search, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, as well as search and rescue, firefighting and police operations. Arkeus has landed multiple defence contracts for its autonomous optics technology and says its systems are customisable for other surveillance tasks like disaster recovery and border security. The company was cofounded in Melbourne three years ago by CEO Simon Olsen and aerospace engineer Dr Jonathan Nebauer. Recent activity includes exhibiting at the Avalon Airshow with support from the Victorian government.
