The company purchases an index of consumer intent search data from search engines and partners with retailers to place intent-driven ads on publisher sites. Buysight says its network reaches 65 million people monthly and includes hundreds of advertisers and thousands of publishers. The startup raised $10 million in funding from Onset Ventures, Rembrandt Venture Partners, Reid Hoffman, Jeff Clavier and others, bringing total funding to $16 million. Co-founder Shaukat Shamim says Buysight turns data into insight for retailers and aims to provide publishers with more relevant ads and a better visitor experience. The company emphasizes delivering intent-based ads in real time to improve targeting by linking search intent with publisher inventory.
