Mission

Ren Labs is the team behind the popular Ren cross-chain bridge and is building Catalog, a cross-chain automatic market maker (AMM) as the first application on a forthcoming Ren blockchain. Catalog aims to bring DeFi to chains without smart-contract functionality by simplifying the AMM experience and abstracting backend complexity. Its planned features include single-sided staking to mitigate impermanent loss and an impermanent-loss protection insurance pool tied to a Catalog token. Catalog will also support direct interactions with users' bank accounts for deposits and withdrawals, according to the announcement. Ren Labs announced a $7.5 million raise to advance Catalog's development; the team formed Ren Labs in October 2021. The company is targeting an April launch for Catalog and a full Ren chain launch in Q3 or Q4, and plans to expand into a suite of DeFi products thereafter.
