About

Updoc (Venture Startups International) is an Australian telehealth provider offering virtual GP consultations, online prescriptions, specialist and pathology referrals, and medical letters via one-off visits or monthly subscription.

Mission

Updoc, operating under the corporate name Venture Startups International, is an Australian telehealth provider established in 2021. It offers virtual consultations, online prescriptions, specialist referrals, pathology referrals, and medical letters, available as one-off transactions or via monthly subscriptions. To date it has served around 200,000 patients. The company raised its first external capital — A$20 million (about $13.2 million) from ASX-listed investor Bailador — and plans to use the funds to accelerate product development and pursue international expansion. Co-founders and co-CEOs Dylan Coyne and Clifton Hodgkinson said the capital will help Updoc move more rapidly toward helping millions of people with healthcare access. The raise comes amid a reported slowdown in telehealth capital investment following the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
