Mission

Griffin Accelerator is a Canberra-based startup accelerator that runs cohort programs for early-stage startups. In 2015 it named seven teams to its program, with each startup receiving $25,000 in funding in exchange for 10% equity. The program’s financial terms are $25,000 per startup for a 10% equity stake. Griffin’s chief executive Craig Davis said the 2015 intake comes at a time of dramatic growth for the Canberra startup scene. Davis pointed to local supporting institutions, including Capital Angels—described as the oldest angel fund in Australia, approaching its 10th anniversary—and the Canberra Innovation Network. He also noted the community co‑working space Entry 29 has experienced substantial growth, with around 115 active members.
