Mission

Who Gives A Crap makes toilet paper and related consumer products with an explicit social and environmental mission. The founders—Simon Griffiths, Jehan Ratnatunga and Danny Alexander—have historically run the business profitably and self-funded growth while donating half their profits to sanitation causes. To date the company has donated more than $10 million to improve global sanitation. The startup plans to use new capital to enter new countries, expand its product range, scale sustainability initiatives and deepen community impact. Management says the funding will allow it to make bigger bets while maintaining substantial annual donations to charity partners. The company is focused on accelerating international growth to help provide toilets and clean water for people affected by contaminated water sources.
