About
ElectraLith, a Monash University spin-out, develops lithium extraction and refining technology for hard-rock (spodumene) and brine sources to simplify processing and lower environmental impact.
Mission
ElectraLith is a spin-out from Monash University that has developed a lithium extraction and refining technology. The technology, developed by Professor Huanting Wang, targets both hard rock (spodumene) and mineral-rich brine sources. The company aims to commercialise the process to materially reduce production costs and environmental harm in lithium production. ElectraLith’s approach focuses on improving the complex extraction processes faced in Western Australia and South America. To support commercialisation it has secured seed funding from Rio Tinto and IP Group. The seed funding is intended to advance commercialisation efforts.
