About
Arludo develops mobile apps and educational games, in collaboration with UNSW, that teach STEM, enable student scientific data collection and real-time collaboration, and use ML to identify struggling learners.
Mission
Arludo is a STEM education start-up founded and led by UNSW Associate Professor Michael Kasumovic. It develops a suite of mobile apps and games in collaboration with UNSW to teach STEM and allow students to collate science data and collaborate in real time. The company says it pivoted during the COVID-19 pandemic to a more flexible product that parents, teachers and students are responding positively to. Arludo won second prize and $100,000 in seed funding from the NSW Government R&D Innovation Districts Challenge. The startup plans to use the funds to hire new team members, scale to help more students and teachers, and work with UNSW Sydney on research outcomes. Planned work includes developing machine-learning algorithms to help teachers identify struggling students and conducting learning studies to improve its programs.
