About
Everest Metals develops rubidium extraction at Mt Edon, scaling lab processes to a pilot to produce 1 kg/week of 95%+ pure rubidium chloride from a 3.6 Mt inferred resource.
Mission
Everest Metals is advancing rubidium extraction from its Mt Edon Critical Minerals Project in mid‑west Western Australia. The company has secured A$150,000 in funding to transition work from laboratory experiments to a full‑scale commercial pilot. The project aims to reliably produce 1 kg of rubidium chloride per week at 95%+ purity and to refine and optimise the production process for commercial scalability. Research and pilot work will involve Edith Cowan University’s Mineral Recovery Research Centre and is scheduled to commence in September 2025 for a 12‑month program. Mt Edon lies 5 km south‑west of Paynes Find and holds an initial inferred mineral resource of 3.6 million tonnes at 0.22% rubidium oxide (more than 7,900 tonnes Rb2O). In June the company also secured membership in the US Defence Industrial Base Consortium to support advancement of the rubidium project.
