ShoreTrade has built an online seafood auction platform designed to replace early-morning fish-market auctions by letting sellers list catches for buyers nationwide and abroad and track deliveries via integrated logistics partners, including airlines. The Sydney-based service is in testing ahead of an official launch early next year and has already signed up 4,000 users while attracting interest from the US, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and India. The platform lets sellers set fixed prices or timed auctions and push notifications to buyers; the company says it will allow fishermen and cooperatives to capture more value. ShoreTrade estimates fishermen will bank 7–10% more per sale by bypassing traditional markets. The business raised capital to fund the launch and logistics build-out and plans to add a blockchain feature one month after launch to provide traceability through the supply chain.
