About

Reposit Power's GridCredits is a residential energy management system that stores and dispatches rooftop solar, schedules overnight/peak use, and enables homeowners to bid exported energy into the grid.

Mission

Reposit Power has built the GridCredits system to control and store rooftop solar energy and enable homeowners to use stored power overnight and at peak times. The technology also allows residential installations to sell energy back into the grid by placing bids, effectively turning homes into micro power plants. Reposit says the system will help smooth variable solar delivery and let network operators manage demand more effectively by supplying stored power at peak periods. ARENA announced $445,000 in funding to trial the GridCredits system as part of a $930,000 project scheduled for completion in July 2015. The trial will be conducted at homes in the Australian Capital Territory, and the Australian Energy Market Operator has been in discussions with Reposit about potential installation and operation on the National Electricity Market. The company is working on commercialising the technology and conducting market research to understand potential customer needs; it was co-founded by Dean Spaccavento and Lachlan Blackwell.
