About
CyAmast provides IoT security software that inventories and classifies devices, builds device behavior models, and detects network anomalies at hundreds of Gbps for campuses, buildings, industrial sites and airports.
Mission
CyAmast commercialises research from UNSW’s School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications to protect IoT devices and networks. Its software identifies, detects and classifies all IoT devices on a network and builds behaviour profiles and models for each device. By continually monitoring network traffic the solution detects deviations from intended device behaviour rather than relying on signature-based packet inspection. The approach is presented as more flexible, scalable and cost-effective than packet-inspection methods and can operate at hundreds of Gbps without specialised infrastructure. The spin-out was formed in May this year around work led by Dr Hassan Habibi, and the team previously received a research grant from Google to model and enforce IoT cybersecurity. New funding will be used to commercialise the technology and support industry applications in enterprise campuses, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and airports.
