Why Wildfire Energy exists

Wildfire Energy is an Australian cleantech startup based in Brisbane that has developed a proprietary gasification process called MIHG to convert solid waste into renewable energy and hydrogen. The MIHG process is described as cost-effective and capable of producing negative carbon emissions. The technology is currently being tested in a pilot plant. Funding and support from Brinc and Artesian are intended to upgrade the pilot plant and finalise commercial designs to enable scaling and commercialisation. Participation in Brinc’s three-month Australia CleanTech Accelerator gives the company access to industry experts, guidance on raising further capital, and assistance securing business partnerships. Wildfire positions its solution as addressing the global waste and climate crisis, noting over 2 billion tonnes of solid waste generated annually and waste contributing more than 5% of greenhouse gas emissions.
