About

GreaseBoss makes a grease-gun-mounted module with integrated flow metering, scanning head, track-and-trace firmware and cloud maintenance logs, and is developing improved UX, reliability and manufacturability with Australian manufacturing plans.

Mission

GreaseBoss produces a module that fits onto grease guns to control flow volume and ensure correct application, combining an in-built flow meter, scanning head, track-and-trace technology, and a cloud database for maintenance logs. The product addresses a pervasive industry problem GreaseBoss estimates costs around $50 billion per year. The team entered Y Combinator as the only Australian startup in its cohort, which the company says helped accelerate its demo, pitch, and US market entry. GreaseBoss has begun a three-month Gen 1.4 development phase to improve user experience, reliability, manufacturability, and aesthetics. The founders credit University of Queensland connections and local industry roots, and the company expresses an intent to bring manufacturing back to Australia. Financially, GreaseBoss has raised over $1 million in funding in the United States and received a $100,000 grant from the Queensland government's Advance Queensland Ignite Ideas Fund.
