About
Hivve Technology builds portable modular classrooms integrating solar PV, real-time energy and CO2 metering, data capture, and communications to manage energy demand, indoor air quality, and enable self-powered operation.
Mission
Hivve Technology makes a portable modular classroom (the “Hivve”) that integrates solar PV generation, real‑time energy metering, CO2 metering, data capture and communications to manage energy demand and indoor environmental quality. Each Hivve unit can generate enough electricity to power itself and two additional classrooms; when in use the company estimates a net energy generation of 7,600 KWh per year versus an average classroom consumption of 3,800 KWh per year. A prototype has demonstrated functionality in a controlled environment and the company is now running its first real‑world trials. Two pilot classrooms are being trialled at St Christopher’s Catholic Primary School in Holsworthy and at Dapto High School, with performance to be monitored over a 12‑month period beginning with the 2018 school year. Hivve positions the product to both educate students about renewables and to reduce schools’ reliance on the grid. Company leadership describes the technology as designed to deliver sustainable environmental and economic solutions for growing school infrastructure needs.
