Mission

Honee is an AI-fuelled online beauty platform providing salons an end-to-end booking service, online shopfront and an AI-powered chatbot called Nectar. The Nectar chatbot and business information service lets salon owners ask questions and receive immediate answers, and was developed with input from salon operators. Since launching in early 2016, Honee has signed up over 10,000 venues across Sydney and Melbourne offering more than 200,000 services, and listed salons receive around four million Google page views a month. The founders—Matt Jones, Nicole So, Alexander Groom and Nick Chang—built the product after surveying salons and finding less than 40% had a web presence and only 0.2% of bookings occurred online. Honee plans to use its new funding to further develop its technology and expand into Sydney, which the company estimates is five to ten times the size of Melbourne’s salon market. The company emphasises helping beauty businesses serve repeat customers rather than focusing solely on new-customer acquisition.
