Tournicare builds a consumer blood-pressure monitoring system combining an easy-to-place wearable device, interactive mobile app and cloud analytics to improve measurement accuracy, user compliance and physician-guided personalized management.

Mission

Tournicare develops a consumer-focused blood pressure (BP) monitor and management system aimed at serving the ~115 million hypertension sufferers in Australia and the US. The product targets improvements across pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical stages of BP measurement to increase accuracy and user compliance. The solution pairs an easy-to-place monitoring device with an interactive app and cloud-based analysis to enable personalised BP management and to aid physicians. Tournicare holds patents granted in the US, Australia, China and Japan, and has completed beta prototypes and a successful data collection/usability trial. The company won the Australian Technology Competition — Medtech Category and has recently secured a strategic US investor. It plans to pursue regulatory approvals (including FDA submissions) and use new capital to complete tooled beta prototypes, verification and validation, and regulatory submissions.
