Founding Full-Stack Engineer
Role Overview
Founding engineer building the technical foundation of a stablecoin payment processor. Infinite offers businesses turnkey APIs and SDKs to instantly move money globally at a fraction of the cost of traditional rails — targeting large US and EU-based B2B companies.
High-ownership across architecture, implementation, and production reliability for mission-critical financial services. Partner directly with founders and early customers to translate real-world payments requirements into robust products.
Market context: Payments infrastructure is heavily under-built. Recent comparables: Stripe's $1.1B acquisition of Bridge (at $17M revenue) and Stripe's $750M acquisition of Privy (at $7M revenue).
Key responsibilities:
- Full stack & end-to-end — design, implement, and operate complete services and user-facing features, from requirements through production support
- System design & architecture — build highly available, event-driven systems for ledgering, compliance, and risk that scale with transaction volume at zero downtime
- Implementation engineering — embed with customers, collect feedback, iterate rapidly to align roadmap with user needs
- Technical decision-making — balance speed and long-term scalability, choose the right tools per problem domain
Tech stack: Next.js, TypeScript, C#, Go, Python, modern cloud infra, AI-assisted dev tools (e.g., Cursor)

Ideal Background
Must-have:
- 3–8 years as a software engineer in payments or compliance
- Platform engineering experience with payments or compliance exposure at Tier 1 VC-backed startups (e.g., Stripe, Rippling, Deel)
- Last role at a high-growth startup — hungry and scrappy (active GitHub a plus)
- Expertise across the stack — all-hands-on-deck with code, comfortable using AI-assisted dev tools
- Strong systematic thinker
- Proficient in at least two of: Next.js/TypeScript, C#, Go, Python
- Comfortable in-person in SF 3–5 days/week (open to remote for the right candidate)
Strongly preferred:
- Top 20 CS degree (MIT, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford, Waterloo, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, CMU) — not required if experience is compelling
- Background at top payments / fintech / crypto companies
Target companies: Stripe, Square, Adyen, PayPal, Braintree, Marqeta, Slope (YC S21), Coinbase, Kraken, Airbnb (plus 30+ more)
Top schools: MIT, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford, Waterloo, Yale, Columbia, Princeton, Cornell, CMU (plus more)
Disqualifiers:
- Pure backend or pure frontend — must be full-stack
- Big-corp / slow-moving enterprise backgrounds without high-growth startup exposure
- Candidates without payments, compliance, or fintech context
